LESCO® CarbonPro-G™

LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ is a revolutionary nutrient optimizing system that harnesses the power of carbon, plant-microbe interactions and organic soil processes to maximize plant health and nutrition. Through field testing, LESCO CarbonPro-G measured 50x more effective than Humic 6%.

This product aids in seed establishment and increases root mass; it may be used during nutrient restrictions and blackout applications. LESCO CarbonPro-G remediates high saline soils and salt toxicity. Regardless of geography, this product may be used for better root systems that enhance tolerance against heat, cold, drought, and salt.

This LESCO branded product is powered by the same Mirimichi Green CarboMatrix technology used in CarbonizPN® Soil Enhancer and contains the same premium compost and biochar blend with an added microbial package.

LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ Product FAQs

Would it be beneficial to throw LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ down before the sod goes down?

Yes, a great use for this product is to apply it before any sod is installed. It will help develop root growth.

If I want to apply LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ using an Earthway spreader, what settings should I use?

For the lower rate, set your spreader to 15, and for the full rate, set your spreader to 23.

Can you put down LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ and fertilizer on the same day?

Yes, you can apply both on the same day, but we wouldn't recommend doing it at the same time due to varying SGN sizes.

What rates do I use to apply LESCO® CarbonPro-G™?

We recommend an initial rate of 10 lbs. per 1,000 SF, followed by a maintenance rate of 5 lbs. per 1,000 SF or as needed.

When is the best time of year to apply LESCO® CarbonPro-G™?

The time of year will depend on where and what you’re applying to. We recommend applying monthly during the growing season for your type of grass.

Can I apply LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ with a broadcast spreader?

Yes, this product is made with smaller granules that allow it to spread with a broadcast spreader.

Can I apply LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ more than one time?

Yes. You can reapply every 2-4 weeks or as needed. We recommend 5 lbs. per 1,000 SF rate when using it for upkeep.

Will LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ burn my lawn?

No, CarbonPro-G won’t burn your lawn because it is not a fertilizer, so you don’t have to worry if you’re putting it down a bit heavy.

Does LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ improve microbial activity in my lawn?

Yes, LESCO CarbonPro-G contains beneficial microbes in its ingredients. With each application, microbial activity will improve.

Where can I find LESCO® CarbonPro-G™?

You can purchase LESCO CarbonPro-G at your nearest SiteOne Landscape Supply store.

What benefit do I get from biochar?

The biggest reason to add biochar to your lawn is putting rich materials in the soil improves nutrient uptake. Also, improving your soil health reduces the watering you need.

Does LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ product have N-P-K?

No, this product is not a fertilizer and does not claim NPK values (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium). LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ doesn't have any appreciable amount of nitrogen in it, so you can use this in addition to any additional nitrogen treatment work.

What’s the difference between LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ and CarbonizPN®?

LESCO CarbonPro-G has the same premium compost and biochar blend as CarbonizPN with an added microbial package. LESCO CarbonPro-G is also in a prill form instead of granules and will work better in walk-behind spreaders compared to CarbonizPN.

What's the difference between LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ and CarbPro-G™?

The only differences are the name and where the products are registered for use/sale. Due to California's regulations on fertilizer and soil amendments, the label is required to be named and structured differently than other states. But rest assured, it's the same high-quality soil amendment.

Is CarbonPro-G a fertilizer?

No. LESCO CarbonPro-G has no claims of macronutrients, otherwise known as N-P-K (Nitrogen - Phosphorus - Potassium), which is required for a product to be a fertilizer. CarbonPro-G is a soil amendment/enhancer. A soil amendment is any material added to a soil to improve its physical properties, such as water retention, permeability, water infiltration, drainage, aeration, and structure. The goal is to provide a better environment for roots.

Can this product burn my lawn?

You're unlikely to overdo it with any of the Mirimichi Green soil amendments. They are designed not to burn.

For those that really want to know the maximum they should use:

  • For an established lawn, you should limit turf topdressing applications to about a quarter-inch so you don't smother the grass crowns (the growing points).
  • For seeding on bare ground or in preparation for laying down sod, spreading 1/2" or even more should be no problem.

Does LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ require immediate watering after applying?

No, it is not required. While it's a good idea to "water in" LESCO CarbonPro-G to activate the dormant biology and help the granules start to break down into the soil, this isn't a necessary step. The product will naturally break down over time from watering events.
