How do I spread CarbonizPN®?
The best way to spread CarbonizPN is with a belt-driven topdresser like the EcoLawn Applicator, Earth & Turf spreader, or a drop spreader. If this equipment is unavailable to you, use a high-volume output spreader, mulch spreader, or ice melt spreader. You can also use an agitator in your walk-behind spreader for better results.
How often should I apply CarbonizPN®?
We recommend applying monthly during the turf growing season. Other application times include: after aeration. before laying sod, and during tree and planting installations.
Which Release product should I use?
Consider what your soil and plants need. Determine your desired NPK and carbon input.
- Release 901 C - 9-0-1 NPK, 10% carbon
- Release Zero - no NPK, 10% carbon
- Release 202 - 2-0-2 NPK, 2% carbon
If in doubt, Release 901c is our most popular and widely available biostimulant fertilizer.
What is a minimum risk pesticide (FIFRA 25b Exempt)?
Because EPA has determined that certain "minimum risk pesticides" pose little to no risk to human health or the environment, the EPA has exempted them from the requirement that they be registered under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. This exemption provision is located in 40 CFR 152.25(f). These products came to be known as FIFRA exempt.
Per the EPA: "Starting in 1996, we exempted such products to reduce the cost and regulatory burdens on businesses and the public for pesticides posing little or no risk, and to focus our resources on pesticides that pose greater risk to humans and the environment."
MG Pest Control uses ingredients known to be safe for humans and pets, and is thus exempt from FIFRA review. However, with an 80%+ kill rate it's certainly not safe for mosquitoes, no-see-ums, and other nasty pests!
Does LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ require immediate watering after applying?
No, it is not required. While it's a good idea to "water in" LESCO CarbonPro-G to activate the dormant biology and help the granules start to break down into the soil, this isn't a necessary step. The product will naturally break down over time from watering events.
Can this product burn my lawn?
You're unlikely to overdo it with any of the Mirimichi Green soil amendments. They are designed not to burn.
For those that really want to know the maximum they should use:
- For an established lawn, you should limit turf topdressing applications to about a quarter-inch so you don't smother the grass crowns (the growing points).
- For seeding on bare ground or in preparation for laying down sod, spreading 1/2" or even more should be no problem.
Is CarbonPro-G a fertilizer?
No. LESCO CarbonPro-G has no claims of macronutrients, otherwise known as N-P-K (Nitrogen - Phosphorus - Potassium), which is required for a product to be a fertilizer. CarbonPro-G is a soil amendment/enhancer. A soil amendment is any material added to a soil to improve its physical properties, such as water retention, permeability, water infiltration, drainage, aeration, and structure. The goal is to provide a better environment for roots.
Does Mirimichi Green Pest Control product harm pollinators?
Mirimichi Green Pest Control, when used as directed, will not harm pollinators if they enter a landscape that has been treated. Note: pollinators should never be sprayed directly with the product.
What type of weeds does Mirimichi Green Weed Control work on?
Mirimichi Green Weed Control works on a wide variety of weeds and grasses. For a full list of tested and proven weeds and grasses that can be controlled with Mirimichi Green Weed Control, view the product label - page 4 for the concentrate or page 6-7 for the ready-to-use spray bottle.
What PPE is required for Mirimichi Green Pest Control?
While the ingredients are all-natural or organic, we recommend glasses and a mask to protect you from inhalation or direct eye contact.
What's the difference between LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ and CarbPro-G™?
The only differences are the name and where the products are registered for use/sale. Due to California's regulations on fertilizer and soil amendments, the label is required to be named and structured differently than other states. But rest assured, it's the same high-quality soil amendment.
Is the product toxic?
It is non-toxic!

Mirimichi Green Pest Control has no offensive odors. Some liken the fragrance to a mild citrus-like scent.

Yes, it is safe when used as directed. We recommend that kids and pets are not present during the application, but as soon as you’re finished and the solution has dried, they can re-enter the area.
Do insects develop resistance to the product with repeated spraying?
No, insects do not develop resistance to the product over repeated sprayings.
What kinds of bugs will this kill?
Mosquitos, ants, roaches, chiggers, spiders, mites, aphids, whiteflies, fleas, spiders, Japanese beetles, chinch bugs, flies, and more.
How does it help keep mosquitoes away?
Our pest control doesn’t just kill, it repels, interrupts, and kills. The ingredients we use act as an adulticide and pheromone interrupter, killing the larvae on contact and interrupting future egg cycles. So future outbreaks of pests are eradicated in the treated areas over time.
How fast can I expect to see results with Mirimichi Green Pest Control?
You will typically start seeing results in as little as one hour after application.
Will rain affect the Pest Control?
No, rain does not change the efficacy of the product, but we do recommend avoiding applying it directly before a massive thunderstorm for best results.

Yes, just rinse them well before consuming.
Can Mirimichi Green Pest Control be used indoors?
No, it is only intended for outdoor use.

With a normal backpack spray system, you can expect up to 3,000 square feet per gallon of product. With a misting system, you can get up to 7,500 square feet per gallon.
How often should I reapply Mirimichi Green Pest Control?
Once you have the initial infestation taken care of, reapply every 3-4 weeks.
What’s the difference between LESCO® CarbonPro-G™ and CarbonizPN®?
LESCO CarbonPro-G has the same premium compost and biochar blend as CarbonizPN with an added microbial package. LESCO CarbonPro-G is also in a prill form instead of granules and will work better in walk-behind spreaders compared to CarbonizPN.
