The Mirimichi Green Story
When Justin Timberlake & his family became the owners of what is now Mirimichi golf course in Memphis, Tennessee they were determined to make it environmentally friendly and open to the public. The name Mirimichi was chosen for its Native American meaning: “place of happy retreat.” This name evolved from the belief that a golf course is a type of sanctuary, and that the game of golf has a rhythm that is a part of the nature that surrounds it.
A renovation in 2009 resulted in an award-winning eco-golf course featuring 7400 yards of championship golf overflowing with natural beauty. It is the first golf course in the USA to receive official Audubon Classic Sanctuary Certification in recognition of its environmental sustainability. Mirimichi features native landscapes, water conservation, wildlife habitat connectivity, integrated pest management, and environmental education.
In 2013, Mirmichi Green was formed to handle manufacturing, sales, and distribution of the complete Mirimichi Green product line. Mirimichi Green Express is headquartered just outside Wilmington, NC.
